Assistant Team Leader - Part Time

Join our central South Hobart store as a part-time Assistant Team Leader in Grocery and be part of a supportive, community-focused team.

If you have previous experience in retail, supermarkets, or stock organisation, or simply enjoy working in a fast-paced, leadership based, customer-focused environment, we’d love to hear from you!

As an Assistant Team Leader, you’ll play an important role in ensuring our store looks its best at all times. You’ll help keep our aisles well-stocked, neat, tidy, and organised, assist customers with friendly and attentive service, and work closely with your team to drive the excellent standards our customers expect.

What you'll do:

• Maintain well-presented, fully stocked grocery aisles

• Provide warm, welcoming and helpful customer service

• Receive, unpack and organise stock deliveries

• Work collaboratively with, and lead your team to support daily store operations and an exceptional grocery department

• Learn and eventually excel in all aspects of the grocery department, including ordering, wastage, gaps, merchandising and more

• Following food safety, workplace health and safety, and company procedures

What you'll bring:

• Excellent communication and people management skills that nurture and drive team performance and engagement

• Stock management experience, with skills in planning, merchandising and strong attention to detail

• Energy and a positive mind-set, as well as a love of working with food and people (both team members and customers)

• Availability to work part-time (approx. 60 hours a fortnight), on an agreed roster across our span of trading hours, including some early and late shifts, and alternate weekends

• Knowledge of daily retail operations, including opening / closing procedures, cash handling and following WH&S and Food Safety regulations

• Physical fitness for lifting and standing

Pay rates are set by the General Retail Industry Award. The 2025 - 2026 base hourly pay rates for level 3 adults are:

Full time 

• Weekdays $27.58

• Saturday $34.48

• Sunday $41.37

Additional penalty rates apply to public holidays and some overtime and early morning shifts. Please view the full Award for all applicable rates and allowances.
