We're looking for a passionate and reliable Kitchen Hand to join our vibrant Devonport Cafe kitchen!

As part of our Cafe Kitchen team, you'll assist with cleaning, prepping and ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen. You'll work closely with our culinary team to maintain the high standards and exceptional experience we are known for! 

What you'll do:

• Assist with food preparation, including chopping, prepping and assisting with the cooking process
• Help maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment, including washing dishes, utensils and kitchen equipment
• Support the cafe team in ensuring the kitchen runs efficiently and in line with food safety standards
• Help to manage stock levels by ensuring ingredients are stored correctly and assist with waste control
• Assist with the production of bakes goods, sandwiches, salads and other menu items

What you'll need:

• A love for food and working in a fast-paced kitchen environment
• Energy, initiative and willingness to take direction
• Strong attention to detail
• Experience in a busy kitchen is highly regarded, but not essential
• The ability to follow company procedures and regulations, particularly regarding food handling and workplace health and safety
• Day-time availability (7am - 3.30pm) is essential, this will include weekdays and alternate weekends.
• Physical fitness for lifting and standing.

Pay rates are set by the General Retail Industry Award 2020. The 24-25 base hourly rate for level 1 adults are:

• Weekday $25.65
• Saturday $32.06
• Sunday $38.48

Casual

• Weekday $32.06
• Saturday $38.48
• Sunday $44.89

Additional penalty rates apply to public holidays and some overtime and early morning shifts. Please view the full Award for all applicable rates and allowances.
