We're looking for a passionate and driven Apprentice Chef to join our Devonport Cafe kitchen!

This apprenticeship is an opportunity for an aspiring Chef looking to begin their career and apprenticeship or a first year apprentice looking for a change!

You'll need a positive attitude, good communication skills, and the dedication and willingness to learn.

What you'll need:

• The ability to undertake an Apprenticeship in Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
• A love for food and working in a fast-paced kitchen environment
• Energy, initiative and willingness to take direction
• Strong attention to detail
• Experience in a busy kitchen is highly regarded, but not essential
• The ability to follow company procedures and regulations, particularly regarding food handling and workplace health and safety
• Day-time availability (7am - 3.30pm) is essential, this will include weekdays and alternate weekends.
• Physical fitness for lifting and standing.

Pay rates are set by the General Retail Industry Award 2020. The 24-25 base hourly rate for level 1 adults are:

• Weekday $25.65
• Saturday $32.06
• Sunday $38.48

Casual

• Weekday $32.06
• Saturday $38.48
• Sunday $44.89

Additional penalty rates apply to public holidays and some overtime and early morning shifts. Please view the full Award for all applicable rates and allowances.
